St. Veit

This historic town of Austria was once the Carinthian capital until 1518. It now consists of 6 large municipalities. Viennese appeal touches every cobblestone street in St. Veit from the Hauptplatz Main Square (where Medieval and Baroque houses are displayed) to the unexpected paintings of Veinnese Phantastic Realists, Ernst Fuchs. Famous for its summer sports, travelers can go sailing, windsurfing and hiking as well as sight-see the Stadtmuseum or Herzogsburg.
